RV Antifreeze
Protect your RV, Boat or Cabin!
- Drain water supply system (fresh water, hot water and grey water holding tanks) following manufacturer instructions. Turn off pump. Reclose drain valves.
- Bypass hot water heater by directly connecting input and output water supply pipes, or use water heater bypass valves if installed.
- Remove water purifier filter cartridge and replace empty canister. Add at least 2 gallons of 20/10 Anti-Freeze to fresh water supply tank. DO NOT DILUTE.
- Re-pressurize water supply system with pump on. Flush toilet until pink liquid fills bowl.
- Open hot and cold water faucets one at a time and let flow until pink liquid fills system.
CAUTION: HOT WATER HEATERS CAN FREEZE.
Hot water heaters also need 20/10 RV Anti-Freeze.
To best protect you heater, we suggest you buy a hot water bypass kit.
WINTERIZING HOT WATER HEATERS WITH Hot water heater bypass kit:
- Reverse bypass procedure (Step #2) and run pump for several minutes.
WITHOUT bypass kit
- Depressurize system by turning pump off and opening any hot water faucets.
- Reconnect hot water inlet and outlet pipes to water heater (Step #2). Close hot water faucet.
- Turn pump on to run 20/10 RV Anti-Freeze into hot water heater tank. Allow liquid to run several minutes or until it no longer flows. Turn off pump.
- Open hot water heater tank drain to check for pink liquid in system. Close immediately. Your system is now winterized.
